The vigilant watcher

The stoic defender
Guises to a shell.
Another seeking to bridge the chasm
Powerful yet hesitant
Wary of the first
Disgusted, yet intrigued
Burden borne of choice unnoticed and undeniable
An agenda still to be learnt.
One oft cannot see what is foreign
